Glasgow is a vibrant Scottish city, full of markets, entertainment, music, nightlife and festive cheer at this time of year. Make sure to check out all of the lovely, twinkling Christmas lights on display in Glasgow’s city centre along Argyle Street, St Enoch Square, Buchanan Street, Royal Exchange Square and George Square. If you have time, make sure you visit the Christmas markets detailed below. 

Christmas Markets

George Square Christmas Market

The George Square Christmas Market is open right through to Hogmanay, with the only exception being Christmas Day! With over 50 venders selling a variety of festive artisan products and handmade goods. Look out for the delicious Yorkshire Pudding Wraps stuffed with your choice of roast and all the trimmings. 

The market is complete with a Giant Advent Calendar, German Windmill, Helter Skleter, Observation Wheel, Carousel and Snow Globe. It has been specifically designed to accommodate autistic needs with a Quiet Room located within the office next to the Helter Skelter. Perfect if you need a moment of calm this month.

St Enoch Square Christmas Market

The St Enoch Christmas Market is all about food with over 50 different venders selling global cuisine. Open throughout the day, it is the perfect place to pop by for a quick bite to eat whilst doing your Christmas shopping.

Independent Markets

Super Market Christmas

The Super Market at Argyle Street Arches Showcases the best independent retail alongside Glasgow vintage and flea market favourites. The market has over 50 stalls with quality products ranging from antiques, clothing, plants and food. Located under the arches of Central Station, the market is safe from the cold, wet Glasgow weather.

Sloans Market

Sloans Market is open all year round and is commonly known for being a great independent market just off of Buchanan Street. The marquees protect the market, keeping everyone nice and dry whilst setting a special shopping atmosphere. Head along to buy some Christmas gifts or stock up on local produce, homeware, arts and crafts.

Christmas Craft Fair Merchant Square

Surrounded by bars and restaurants, the Christmas Craft Fair at Merchant Square is the perfect place to sift through locally handcrafted and locally made jewellery, art, bakery and aromatherapy products. Perfect gifts for a special someone this Christmas.
